I have developed the WORST sweet tooth ever. I mean, I’ve never been one to turn down an ice cream cone or slice of cake but those are so rarely offered that it’s just never been an issue. Until now. What in the world? I’m just dying for something sweet all. the. time. And, sadly, my scale is beginning to reflect this new obsession.
In the past, my go-to craving stopper was to brush my teeth. This trick is still helpful but it’s just not enough. Then, I made a delicious homemade mouthwash using cassia and lemon essential oils — also helpful but still not quite enough.
For the record, I have to confess that I hate gum chewing. I think I have that disorder where certain sounds such as the sound of chewing induces rage or disgust. Misophonia? I can’t stand to be near a gum chewer or be the gum chewer. It’s a problem, for sure, but I’m getting over it because — scale ^. Also, I’ve learned that I can still blow a mean bubble without popping it onto my nose. Boom. 👊 Still got it.
This gum is called a metabolic gum — what’s that you say? Each piece contains one drop of doTERRA’s Slim & Sassy oil in it. The Slim & Sassy blend is formulated to help reduce cravings and support a healthy metabolism. What’s really interesting is that I’ve known people who use Slim & Sassy to reduce appetite and others who use it to increase appetite for various reasons. It’s a really versatile oil blend that contains grapefruit, lemon, peppermint, ginger, and cinnamon. I don’t care for the flavor of it in my water (I don’t care for any flavor in my water – I’m a water purist), but in the gum — yes. It’s delicious. Sometimes I taste the citrus immediately and other times it’s the peppermint that is most obvious to me. It’s so, so good, the flavor lasts a long time, and actually lingers a really long time even after you spit the gum out.
The other ingredients are:
Sorbitol, Gumbase, Slim & Sassy Oil Blend (Grapefruit Peel Oil, Lemon Peel Oil, Peppermint Plant Oil, Ginger Root Oil, Cinnamon Bark Oil), Xylitol, Isomalt, Magnesium Stearate, Stevia, Citric Acid, Menthol
Nothing scary but don’t let your dogs taste it! Did you know xylitol is toxic to dogs? I did not until recently. Just a little friendly PSA for you there.
So if you’re dying of sugar cravings, trying to reduce overall consumption, or even trying to stop smoking or something like that, give this gum a try. This advice coming from a non-gum chewer with misophonia. It’s really good. I promise.
No doTERRA account? What? Why not?! 😉 Give me a shout, I can help you out with that!
All the love,
